JASSY RENNIE
Sex and Relationship Counsellor, Somatic Sexologist
Jassy works with the parts of sex and intimacy that most people have never had a safe place to talk about. Her sessions are warm, direct and practical, and she is interested in what is actually happening in your body alongside what you are able to put into words.
She believes sex and pleasure aren’t isolated to the bedroom, and that we need to attend to them in our everyday lives to experience better pleasure, sex and relationships.
A lot of the people Jassy sees have been told there is nothing wrong with them, or have been handed a diagnosis with no plan attached to it. Some have been carrying it quietly for years.
Her work begins with making sense of what the body is doing and why, then building from there at a pace that feels possible, rather than asking anyone to push through pain or perform progress.
Her approach
Jassy’s clinical approach combines person-centred talk therapy with somatic sexology. In practice that means attending to the nervous system as well as the conversation, because the two are rarely separate when it comes to sexual pain, anxiety or desire.
She works alongside pelvic floor physiotherapists where that’s helpful, and will refer you on if someone else is a better fit.
Her background
Before training as a counsellor, Jassy spent over eight years in leadership, community partnerships and mentoring roles, and founded and ran a yoga studio. That background shows up in her sessions as a practical, down-to-earth approach and a comfort with talking plainly about sex.
Outside the practice, Jassy is learning French, loves surfing and is a firm believer in fairy smut as a way to a more erotic life.
